Beth Rhodehamel Interiors

I have worked in design and product development for over 25 years, my experience ranging from footwear and accessory design to tableware and textile design. I have designed for firms including Williams-Sonoma, Herend Porcelain, and Donna Karan Collection. Through my experiences there has been a common thread of working with artisans and craftspeople using traditional techniques to create modern products. I was fortunate enough to travel throughout the world with my work, giving me a strong appreciation for handcrafted materials.

My interior design work evolved out of friends asking for advice and then referring me on to their friends. Word of mouth is wonderful. My clients hire me with the confidence that I will approach their project with new ideas, historically correct colors and materials, and partner with them to create an environment that they love to live in.

I enjoy working with companies that produce well made and unique materials. Many of the fabric lines I carry are made by small companies that produce their textiles by hand. I like to offer a range that is unique to Madison and often also to the Midwest.

When working with a home I like to acknowledge the era in which it was built when selecting materials. I recently worked on a turn of the century house which was kept very clean and modern in design. In a nod to when it was built we incorporated hand blocked fabrics, as that time was when mechanized textile printing was new and hand blocked fabrics graduated from everyday to exceptional.

I believe that design should not be exclusive. I enjoy projects of all sizes. If you need advice on a color for just one room or fabrics throughout your house, I am happy to help you.

After an initial meeting about your project, I will put together a brief design concept reflecting what I think would work well in your home. I start this way to be certain you like the direction we are taking with your home.

Once a plan is approved, I will fine tune the design of your home, suggesting fabrics, lighting, paint colors or furnishings. I will work with you according to your budget and requirements, whether decorating a room or a complete house.

I can assist you with cushions, flooring, upholstery, window coverings and wall treatments.

The Shop

Forget Me Not Studio offers classic tableware, gifts and furnishing fabrics made by traditional methods. The idea of the shop came to me while working with a ceramic manufacturer in Florence. The manufacturer had just lost the account of a large retailer. The retailer took the Italian samples and copied them for mass production. I thought that if I ever opened a shop, I’d like to purchase products specifically from traditional manufacturers who have a sense of heritage.
